Nature based practices to nurture connection, reflection and joy

Inclusion Outdoors designs nature-integrated rituals and facilitated experiences that move beyond traditional professional development to sustain the heart of inclusion work. We help teams build a culture of belonging through immersive retreats, seasonal rhythms, and ecosystem-inspired metaphors—like the resilience of a redwood forest—to strengthen staff and coalition cohesion and shared purpose. By embedding these nature-based practices into daily organizational life, we provide the grounded processes necessary to navigate transitions with clarity, compassion, and renewed collective energy.

Services for nourishing providers

  • We design immersive nature-based experiences that strengthen staff, board and coalition cohesion, deepen reflection, and nurture joy. These offerings invite teams to pause, reconnect and grow together through facilitated retreats, workshops, and group experiences that use play, mindfulness, art and reflection in nature to foster authentic relationships, enhance communication, and renew collective energy.

  • We facilitate rituals and ceremonies to be in reciprocity with nature, healing ourselves, our connections to each other and Mother Earth, with nature as our guide and teacher. We lead gatherings with a range of nature-based modalities, including meditation, working with plants and energies of the land, art, movement, singing, breathwork, poetry and reflection. These rituals can support organizations and coalitions through periods of transition—such as staffing changes, leadership shifts, or restructuring. They range in time from ½ day to 3 days, or at intervals over a longer period of time. These can be held in person or virtually.

  • We help teams weave nature-inspired practices and teachings into their daily organizational life to sustain a culture of belonging. This includes training teams to align workflows with seasonal rhythms, opening and closing meetings with intention, and designing leadership structures inspired by the interconnected wisdom of the natural world.

  • Four people sitting and meditating in tall brown grasses with snow capped mounts and a clear blue sky in the background.

Facilitating spaces for healing and reciprocity

We hold intentional space for providers to gather in ceremony, using nature as a guide and teacher for organizational and personal reflection. By facilitating rituals that center reciprocity with the land, we offer teams a dedicated container to strengthen their connections to one another. These experiences provide a necessary pause for collective renewal, helping teams remain grounded and sustained in their long-term commitment to the community.

    Earth offerings & seasonal alignment

We offer restorative practices aligned with the cycles of the moon and seasons, integrating astroherbology, poetry, and earth offerings to deepen reflection. These experiences allow staff and leadership to step out of "urgency culture" and realign their professional pace with the natural world, fostering a sense of belonging and personal wellbeing.

  • A group of people gathered outdoors under a large tree, sitting on chairs in a semi-circle, engaged in a discussion or meeting on a grassy area with fields and trees in the background during dusk.

Integrating nature-based rituals into organizational practices

Through our work with our clients, we embed nature-based rituals directly into the structure of steering committee meetings and community gatherings. By opening sessions with guided mindfulness, poetry, and reflections on the five elements, we ground high-level strategic coordination in a shared language of connection and trust.
